CORDIS, the European Community Research and Development Information Service, has just published a short video which outlines the aims and objectives of the Service and provides a tour of the main aspects offered by CORDIS. The video was launched at a presentation to the EU''s Research Ministers during the Research Council on 12 February 1998.
CORDIS, a service of the EU''s INNOVATION programme, provides fast and easy access to information for those interested in participating in EU research programmes, as well as demonstrating the achievements of EU-funded research. It also aims to encourage and promote the use of research results to contribute to the development of European competitiveness. The essence of innovation is working together, and one of CORDIS'' main objectives is to bring together researchers from across Europe, contributing to the development of both research and innovation in Europe.
The CORDIS video, in both English and French, gives viewers a short introduction to the Service. Key aspects of interest to both new and experienced CORDIS users are highlighted, and Edith Cresson, Commissioner responsible for research, innovation, education, training and youth, outlines CORDIS'' contribution to EU research activities.
The video will shortly be made available to view on-line on the CORDIS Web site.
